This Saturday, December 11th, 2010, the John J. McCarthy Observatory will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with a spectacular evening. First, world renowned astronomer, Dr. Heidi Hammel will speak at the New Milford High School Auditorium. Dr. Hammel will speak about “Cosmic Collisions”.

This presentation is part of the Second Saturdays Stars Program, which can be seen weekly on Charter Communications channel 21. Tapes are also available at the New Milford Public Library.

After the discussion, follow the luminary lights to the J.J. McCarthy Observatory for a guided tour and a night sky observation (weather permitting of course).
